I bet a billion everyone knows Joe by now. He has been around for nearly three-fourth a century (69 years). Like the folk-star Bob, he has been reinvented countless times. Very recently, Heath (RIP) made a chilling portrayal of him on silver screen. By now, it must ring a bell as to who I am scribing about. If it doesn’t yet, Wizard ranked him #1 on the list of 100 Greatest Villains of All Time. Still doesn’t ring it! Alright, the persona I am getting to is Mr. Joker. In this story I was reading…

After finishing Batman R.I.P., the first thing that came to mind was that the story was very complex and
sophisticated, the plot had a lot of twists and turns and there were things you needed to know before this event in
order to understand some of the references. But ov…

So through all of the Batman "media" (comic books, films, books, etc.), and for a big fan like me, comes a question, not so often:
Has there been any type of disappointment?
I would say hardly ever. but there are a few that does exist. For example, movies made from comic books do have
some type of success, just depends on how the movie pleased. Well we all remember the first batman motion
picture starring michael keaton and jack nicholson.....AMAZING is all to be said about that.
but the se…

But, if there are many who would like to discuss their thought on the Dark Knight, please come my way! Heheh! Its always great to make new friends in the fellowshop of Batman! ^__~*

Ah. The summer of 1989.
For the first time in my life, I didn't feel like a complete whack job for running around town dressed head to foot in Batman logo-sporting clothing.
Spontaneously starting conversations with Batman topics no longer ended with dirty looks and snide remarks.…

In the eighties, there was a revolution in comic book industry that marked the arrival of Frank Miller. The superhero genre, so far meant to be for children, was forever transformed and redefined with the arrival of Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns in ’86. This graphic novel was painted with dark tones and shades. When children were transfixed by gritty action, the adults were by it and the polished narrative tone and its literary content. Around the same time arrived Alan Moore with Watchmen th…

If you are a Graphic Novel Fan”atic,” that title comes with a string or two attached to it. For one, graphic novels are very expensive and draw a hole in your wallet; two most of the high-art, quality works are not available in India and you end up succumbing to low-art, comics disguising as them; three there is a fair chance of you finding that your favorite character isn’t done justice to either art wise or writing wise and you pay a grand and feel robbed.

Batman is one of the most complex characters ever to appear in comic books, graphic novels, and on the big screen. What philosophical trials does this superhero confront in order to keep Gotham safe? Combing through seventy years of comic books, television shows, and movies, Batman a…

I have also heard the superhero movie in general and Batman in particular compared to the Homeric epics, because they deal with larger than life figures and even immortals. But the reality of the Homeric epic is c…

Scenes like the interrogation scene, with "You have nothing to threaten me with. Nothing to do with all your strength." and "They are only as good as the…
