I think that both of them did really amazing the role of The Joker :) But I think that Nicholson´s Joker was as funny as the Joker in the comics, and Ledger´s Joker was as cruel and phsyco as The Joker is in comics, so if an other actor would play...
jack nicholson was a really great joker but in my opinion heath ledger did an amazing job. i think he was the best joker. the way he portrayed the character was outstanding.

The Jokers Final speech before the SWAT team takes him away I think it is the best part just because its that point when Batman thinks he has won and all that joy is slashed to pieces when he finds out The Joker got to Harvey Dent.
Not to take anything away from Eckart's performance but I think Tommy Lee was better as Two-Face where as Eckhart did an amazing job as Harvey Dent. I just see Two-Face as more a lunatic like the Joker and not a tortured soul like Batman. But I'm ...
